  1. Great find, Tracey! I used to work for the George Peabody Museum in Peabody, Mass. Can you send them a copy of the photograph reference? I think they would get a kick out of it.

  2. I don’t know how else to ask this question here–so could people please take a look at my blog at

and tell me if they recognize the manufacturer of the account book in the photo. As I stated on my blog, all my research was so hurried. I was able to see another book by the same manufacturer in a museum in the same town, but I was so busy counting the pages in order to find out how many the mutilated book should have contained that I forgot to note who made them. The one in the museum had red diagonal stripes and I am wondering if the one at the church used to be red and the stripes had faded to the unattractive orange color–or whether the firm also made an orange one, possibly with a different page count. Thanks in advance for any assistance,

  3. Hello Tracey et al,
I am in possession of ledger letters from George Winsor, Jr. dating from 1826 to 1836. I found them in some of my mother’s belongs (she died in 2018). It appears George Winsor, Jr. was my great great great great grandfather. There are pictures also of him and his wife, Hannah. Please contact me if you would be interested in sharing notes. Sincerely, Judith Winsor (Cummings) Anderson
